This Privacy Policy applies to the Endocannabinoid System Network Web Site operated by Scientiae, LLC ("Scientiae"), accessible at http://endocannabinoid.net ("the Site"). The information about you collected on the Site is subject to this Privacy Policy and any and all changes to this Policy that may be made by Scientiae. This Privacy Policy describes what information we may collect from visitors to the Site, how we use this information, how we protect it, and what choices you have regarding the information. The Site and its content are intended for use only by persons in the United States. The effective date of this Privacy Policy is August 21, 2006.

  1. Collection and Use of Information. Scientiae collects personally identifiable information such as name, address, telephone number, email address, or mailing address when you voluntarily submit it to us. We will use this information to respond to requests for information and may use this information to contact you. We may use the information to provide you with materials about Scientiae or our products and services, including new content or services at the Site. We may provide you with these materials by phone, mail, facsimile, or email. We may also share your information with our subsidiaries, affiliates, or business partners. We may also share your information with trusted third parties in whose products or services we believe you may be interested. We may also request that you provide us with demographic information or other information that we may use to help us serve you better.

    Regardless of whether you have opted out of various uses by us of your information, we may disclose your personally identifiable information (1) to vendors and service providers who assist us in providing service to you; (2) in connection with security related or law enforcement investigations or in the course of cooperating with authorities; (3) to comply with legal requirements or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (4) when we believe it is necessary to share information to assist in an investigation regarding, or to prevent, illegal activities, suspected fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person; and (5) in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar event to our successors or assigns, or it may be sold as an asset of our company. We use this information, which remains in aggregate form, to understand how our visitors use the Site and to improve the Site.   2. Not Intended for Use by Minors. The Site is not intended for, nor do we believe it is appealing to, children under the age of 18. We will not knowingly collect information from visitors to the Site in this age group. We do not specifically collect, use, or disclose information about children under the age of 18.

  3. Security. Scientiae takes reasonable precautions to keep all information obtained from visitors to the Site secure against unauthorized access and use. Please be advised that, although we have tried to make the Site secure and reliable for you, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from the Site cannot be guaranteed.   4. Links to Other Sites. As a convenience to you, Scientiae provides links from the Site to third-party Web sites. Third-party Web sites are not covered by this policy. This Privacy Policy applies solely to the information collected on the Site. Scientiae cannot guarantee the standards of every Web site link it provides or be responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content included on third-party Web sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave the Site and to read the privacy policies of any Web site that you may visit.

    Continuing Medical Education. When you register for a Continuing Medical Education ("CME") or a Continuing Education ("CE") activity through the Site, we collect certain personally identifiable information from you such as your name, email address, and mailing address. If you are a nurse or a pharmacist and wish to receive CE credit, you are also required to provide the state in which you are licensed and your license number. In addition to personally identifiable information, we collect aggregated non-personally identifiable information about the activities undertaken by our users. We use the information that we collect through CME/CE activities in several ways:

    1. We provide personally identifiable information to CME/CE providers who certify CME/CE activities posted on www.endocannabinoid.net, as required by the ACCME and other accrediting bodies. This information may include personally identifiable information about you and credits issued to you, for the purpose of maintaining records that you can request from the CME/CE provider for up to six (6) years;

    2. Commercial supporters of CME/CE activities on the site will receive aggregated data about CME/CE activities that are relevant to their interests and/or the courses they support;

    3. Scientiae staff will have internal access to files containing personally identifiable information, including evaluation forms and aggregated CME/CE participant information. These files can be accessed for reasons including providing responses to your questions or comments. Our staff may also use personally identifiable information, including registration information and evaluation data, in assessing educational needs and planning marketing activities; and we may use the information we collect as otherwise permitted in this Privacy Policy.

  6. Non-U.S. Residents. The Site is intended for U.S. residents only. Scientiae, LLC makes no representations that the information in the Site is appropriate for users in countries other than the United States, which may have different legal or regulatory requirements, or indications for, or restrictions on, the sale or use of pharmaceutical products or information. If you are subject to laws of any jurisdiction other than of the United States, you are hereby on notice that your access and use of the Site is at your own risk, and implies no liability on Scientiae's part. Nothing herein should be considered a solicitation or promotion for any product or an indication for any product that is not permitted by the laws or regulations of the country where the user of the Site resides.

NOTWITHSTANDING any provisions to the contrary in this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent and agree to allow Scientiae to view, compile, collect, use in any way, modify, copy, display, distribute, reproduce, process, disclose, transmit, and create derivative works from all or any portion(s) of your personal and other information. By submitting and/or entering your information to this Web site and its Web pages, you agree to and grant Scientiae an irrevocable, perpetual, nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license and right to view, compile, collect, use in any way, modify, copy, display, distribute, reproduce, process, disclose, transmit, and create derivative works from all or any portion of your personal and other information. However, Scientiae is not obligated to use your information, and Scientiae reserves its rights to delete and to refuse to use your information, at Scientiae's sole discretion. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree that Scientiae may submit and disclose your personal and other information to third parties for business purposes and all other lawful purposes.
